What a wonderful world we would have if people getting married today would always treat each other equal and continue to let their love blossom. Too many think after they sign that piece of paper they don't have to respect or be honest and care for each other. I have been with Fred for 36 years and we are still on our honeymoon and I hope that is how it will always be, till death do us part.
There's not much difference in us now then in the beginning except we just love each other more and more with each tomorrow.
The Difference In Us It was yesterday when we were so young,
When we shared a dream so bright.
That one day we would wed,
We’d become husband and wife.
We’d face all the tomorrows,
With one thing on our mind.
That we would always be happy,
Always together in time.
It seems the years are passing by,
As we age so gracefully,
We’re still facing all tomorrows,
Still as happy as can be.
Still making promises to each other,
Sharing that same look so tenderly.
Standing by each other through the years,
The way life was meant to be.
The only difference in us dear,
We seem to care more each day.
Through the good and the bad,
We let nothing stand in our way.
We promised to live by the rule,
To love till death takes us apart.
To respect and always be there to care,
Sharing a love from within our heart.

Beautiful, heartfelt words of truth. Perhaps when people learn to have respect for each other and give up the pre-nups (just incase) love will blossom. No logic to pre-nups, more of an anticipation that they know before they even begin it won't be forever...

Having been blessed with a loving marriage to a woman who I could not hold a candle too for if there was angel on earth it was her. Splendid poem of true love.
They said that "the success of a marriage depends on no hitting back" but that's from my funny bone, in reality the success, I think, depends on respect and solicitude toward each other.

My parents were married 39 years, then Mom died. Daddy remarried six years later, they were married 12 years and then HE passed. My brother and his first wife were married 25 years. She died. He's since remarried - still going strong. That's what I respect about them: they honored the marriage vows, until Death did them part.
I was only married for 3 years. My husband divorced me. To have the kind of relationship you and Fred have is only a dream for me ... enjoy each other while you have each other.
