I often wonder why we have to endur hard times, loss of loved ones, loss of jobs and diminished health. Then on the other hand I think it is to make us stronger as we struggle to pull through realizing life is worth the fight.

Life Isn’t Always Easy
(We’re put to a test)
April 20. 2009
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

Life isn’t always easy,
For God puts us through a test,
To see how we handle  situations,
When put under so much stress.

We often feel that we have screwd up,
What else can we do wrong,
For we don’t accept what’s happening,
When all  familiar things seem gone.

Collect ourselves and rest a while,
For all things in life we have to earn,
And way to often we realize,
It’s a test that we must learn.

Lost and lonely in the dark,
We feel all life is gone,
Truth is we have to pick ourselves up,
Get back to where we belong.

What do we want in life,
Now think of what you really need,
Make a plan to get to your destiny,
Follow it for it is a sacred deed.

No life isn’t always easy and it may never be,
We have choices to help  us along the way,
No things aren’t always that easy,
But we can help  change it a little everyday.

A simple thing such as prayer,
Is heard by our Father up above,
He is there to help through these times,
Because for us, He holds a forever love.

Although I've written a few, I'm really not into poetry and often find it hard to feel exactly what the author is attemting to tell me, but yours leaves no doubt in my mind, Rose. Very well written and heartfelt. Your friend, Mark

Truely said except that LIFE not God just puts all those tests at our feet. True He watches from his wisdom to see whether we will turn to him for guidance or if we'll swear by our ego instead. Putting "God in Control" is not fantasy or weakness. It's realizing there's something more powerful than "our" way of doing things...
That's the best message in your poetry too. Thanks for strengthening our FAITH..
love, michael

"We make a living by what we earn, we make a life by how we live."
In the end, ashes to ashes, all man's destiny will be, for even Lazarus ultimately died years after Jesus brought him out of the dead. Your poem makes us aware "that we must number our days aright" for "a man's life is but a breath" and we will all reach our finish lines any day, any moment.

Rose,
I make no apology for repeating myself, I've said it before of your work that your spirit and great faith shine through no matter how difficult and depressing the circumstance. You are an inspiration.

Life is tough at times...not fair at times...but we have to think of what we have...and not what we don't have to realize how blessed we are. Great write Rose!

For a girl you think deeeeeep. for a Canadian....you can thiiiiiink! ! ! LOL ( sorry, I couldn't resist)
But for one that play chess with Him above, you wouldn't believe the things people ask Him, and many times, He said, He is not the one doing the test but the people themselves.
Something to think about.
Great words from you, though.

Georg

Rose,

Very wise words. I've always believe, God never gives us anything we cannot handle, although it may sometimes seem overwhelming.

This is the real question that no one can answer. We start always from wrong criteria. We don't remember how we came on earth, we lost our memory when we touched the earth. In fact we always say we belong to this or to that; in reality we don't know how we became bone and flesh while we descent from the Light of the Creator. Here on earth only prayer can help human beings grasp the naked reality.
Great poem. Love Emile
