Where Has The Years Gone

I look at Fred and I and there are times I wonder, where has the years gone, no maybe it doesn't matter but we don't feel as though we have aged. There are a few grey hair ok a lot and a few extra pounds but inside where it counts we are still young at heart so who really cares about the minor changes in appearances.

Where Has The years Gone
Who Really cares
June 30, 2009
By: Rose Marie Rideout

I think of you and all I see
Is this tall handsome figure,
Knowing he'll always belong to me.

A tinge of grey rest in his hair,
When did that show up,
It doesn’t matter, who really cares.

I look into your eyes and face
I still see that same handsome guy,
He still keeps my heart in a race.

Look at me, I have some grey,
A few extra pounds too, but still
Wanting me, you don’t walk away.

I was once fillled with many fears,
We have aged through time
But tell me dear who really cares.

We still have our romantic talks,
You still make me feel like a teenager,
As we still hold hands as we walk.

Tell me where has the years gone
And who really cares, as long
As we are together where we belong.

You have perfectly described how I feel about my soul mate, Rick. This is a second marriage for both of us, and we often wonder why it took so many years for us to find each other. Great job, you hopless romantic! giggle Love it!

Anna

So true Rose. As I just "told" Fee in my comments on his poem, sometimes I close my eyes and it seems as though I can feel time flowing past my face like a breeze. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

Adore this, Rose. When you truly love someone, time stops. Nothing sweeter than a love which has aged through the years yet knows no limits of time. Couples holding hands shows true intimacy. Beautiful...

You always talk as smooth as silk when you talk of the love of your life and especially can even overlook the fact that he is a Ryan Newman fan and still love him.

One can only wonder where the years have gone; but even if a person changes on the outside due to age, they're still the same old person. I mean, look at me: I see a middle aged woman staring back at me, and I see the grey in my hair. Yet I still feel like a young kid mentally; in my mind, I still love to have fun, play, and enjoy life! :) Just too bad I don't move or get around as fast as I used to! LOL Well penned, Rose; you and Fred are so blessed to have each other!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Yes...where the years are gone? because I had them tied hard to my old oak tree and yet the horse thieves got them when I wasn't looking!

Where have they gone indeed. I feel just like you do; young at heart though the body tells me a different story. Well written, Rose. God bless.

I couldn't agree more, Rose - young at heart, is the best way to be.
