I accept the New Year as an early start to my New Year plans. No time like the present time.
New Year, New Way January 3, 2010

A New year brings on new thoughts,
New ways of thinking and
New ways of doing things,
By doing them right.
This year I am already thinking,
Of the following year,
To tend to more needy,
I’ll now put plans in gear.
New ways of helping,
To gather more help,
To spread more smiles,
Turn dark days bright. Put food on the table,
Love in everyone’s heart,
It’s never too early ,.
To get a head start.
Get involved with the Seniors,
The Veterans we respect and love so,
Let them know they’re not forgotten,
Take the time to let them know.
So if at times you wonder,
Where have I gone,
Know I’m spending time with Heros,
Sharing Love where it belongs.
Take one hour, from one day a week,
Do something for someone for one hour.
Read to someone, walk with someone,
Give your time, you’ll find it is fun.
Many elderly are ostracized to waiting seats on "homes" corridors without a visit from family or anybody else, just a perfunctory not now and then to check if they are still alive. When an stranger give them a few hours of conversation over a cup of tea...their eyes come alive, smiles break the gray faces gloom and that "thank you" from them fills your heart like nothing can...
Other people may say what you have said and other people may have in their hearts what you, Rose, have in your heart. But saying and feeling are far removed from actually doing and you, my Newfie friend, I know will do what you say and do what is in your heart.

Give your time, you've got the power!! This is so right-on Rose. No-one can control our diaries like we can. And yes, I feel inspired more or less along the same lines... or rather, heartily NUDGED!! :)) Time is our most precious commodity but when we choose to share it, it returns to us redoubled. A Much "NEEDED" POEM Sweet Rose! I loved doing "MEALS ON WHEELS" when I Volunteered! Should go back but with cut backs, so many changes in hrs. When I get OUT of Work around 5PM (and I go in at 5Am for School Bus Driving) the hrs that are Offered can be taxing aor rather difficult to attend to. I Will be trying Saturd. Mornings in a volunt. Literary Program at the Library! They have a program you "must" enter in 1st. The same is offered for fostering Children IN YOUR HOME! I will pray that more is offered since TIME IS NEEDED! A Perfect "HELP PROGRAM" for those that don't work long days every day of the week, the nights and Weekends, Bosses and Programs should really consider to get "EXRTRA NEEDED" HELP from Others! But, We must "NEVER" GIVE UP! THANK YOU Rose for Doing "YOUR PART" that YOU ARE ABLE TO DO while caring for your own Family/Friends! Excellent Poem of Need at this bright and Blessed New Year! HAPPY! Great message, Rose; so many people need help, and not just the children; yet so many forget the adults and focus entirely on the kids. Guess it's because kids can't help it. Well done, brava! You're a good egg! :) We need more Rose Rideouts in our world! :)
