Thank you Annable for inspiring me to write this one as I think back to the Cruise Hubby took me on a year ago.

Regain your Love
April 8, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

In a little cabin on the ship,
Into each others arms we’d slip.
The things we once did,
We were about to relive.
Smiles and cuddles and petting too,
Sipping wine and stripping among a few.
Background music softly playing,
To the gentleness of two bodies swaying.

Watching from our balcony,
As waves go drifting by,
Renewing a love that once was,
We wonder what happened and why.
Love unfolds like a fresh breath of air,
All because two people still care.
They never stopped loving each other,
They slowed down, too much of a bother.

Life grew old and sort of stale,
No excitement, they didn’t fail.
They took a break one cold lonely day,
Forgot where they were as they went astray.
They now took the time to love once more,
Love grew again behind closed cabin doors.
They took a Cruise far out to sea,
To regain a love  always meant to be.

Their love grew stronger day by day,
No regrets, no saddness to display.
They’ll never again take a break on a lonely day,
But hold each other in a sexual way,
They’ll sip wine and dance under the stars,
Erasing the past hurt, pain & scars.
They took a cruise far out at sea,
To regain a love always meant to be.

Beautiful write sis, and isn't that what a cruise is all about, romance, play, fun and yes especially love if its there to find. Love the pictures too sis, but you know that.

Love you sis,
Selena

This is so honest and refreshing, literally, Rose. To me, it is encouraging that EVEN a love such as yours which is very much "meant to be" has needed this time of "picking itself up by the bootstraps" and dusting itself down in order to renew and reinvigorate. Those of us who have been in long-haul relationships do well to take heed of your delightful sentiments here and to see it as advice as well as a thoroughly upfront testimonial of the "no-pain-no-gain of love and romance. Even matches made in Heaven need a spot of TLC sometimes! Bless you for this. xx

After reading your poem and Annabel's poem, I think I'll see if Bonnie wants to take a cruise... We would too, but are kind of held back by her fourteen year old dog that she's afraid to leave. But we will! One day, not too soon I hope for Bonnie really loves that dog but we will, one day.

Wow! And absolutely beautiful picture of the happy couple, Rose. And your poem speaks volumes about true love that is timeless. We are never too old to revive passionate feelings that somehow get lost in the rush of everyday life. Wonderful poetry, my friend.

Hugs,
Anna
