As the cold weather approches, we who suffer with pain seem to go through even more. Most times pills don't help to manage it. We try to go on day after day, breaking down seems to help keep our sanity. I have even caught myself questioning the pain I go through, You cannot fake pain, it is there and it hurts.

That’s How Life is  Meant to be

September 20, 2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

Tears of pain fill most days,
As severe pain come our way,
Pill after pill to end the pain,
So bad at times, you feel insane.
Sad, but pain one cannot see,
I guess that’s how life is meant to be.

Sleepless night after night,
Tossing and turning, your body fights,
To ease the pain, no one can see,
I guess that’s how life is meant to be.
You continue on through each day,
Praying the pain will just go away,
Another perscription filled to take,
Pain is something, no one can fake.
It hurts so bad but no one can see,
I guess life is what’s meant to be.

Pain is pain, we know it hurts,
Too many in pain, we’ve been cursed,
A restless body from so much pain,
So bad at times you feel insane.
Pain is something you cannot see,
I guess that’s how life is meant to be.
The weather changes, it’s cold and damp,
Causing your body to hurt and cramp,
Another pill, don’t help, it’s not right,
Sleepless and tossing all through the night,
Pain is something you cannot see,
I guess this is what life’s meant to be.

Know that one to well, great words about how it feels. And emotions do make it worse. I keep remembering that laughter helps so watch as many comedians as you can. it's a moment of peace that and learning some good relaxation techniques helps

Rose,
You are speaking for me as well as yourself in these direct no holds barred lines.
I gave up painkillers in 2005, they brought on my stroke, and since then I've relied on glucosamine, turmeric, pineapple juice and lots of omega-3...and while they take a while to kick in, when they do they work and without painkillers I'm in less pain now than I was five years ago. Just a polite suggestion.

Rose, I understand the pain you speak of, but in the end all we can do is work through the pain...and hope our poetry helps to ease the discomfort, even if nothing else can.

Cheers with hopes of ease from your pain.

Sometimes life is what it is and we learn to accept the cards we are dealt. I'm so sorry you are hurting and wish there was something I could do to help you feel better...

Be always safe,

Rose, as a friend, even a far away friend that has never shaken your hand, or hugged or lightly kissed your cheek, I am so sorry that pain for you is so acute. Outside of a bad ankle, at my age (76) I consider myself to be amung the lucky as near weekly one frind or another is stricken with what begins to wrack those approaching, and those that have arrived at older age. I am rather sure that living in the comparatively dry and moderate temperatures of Southern California helps, a lot! Certainly, I would hope that you can find a way to manage the pain.
Your friend, Mark

pain is important means of communication
our bodies speak to us in all sorts of ways
as do our memories (I agree with Viv)
I often times feel someone beating me across my back
they hit me hard over and over again
this is absolutely a memory...
I hope you find comfort

Dear Rose this is the story of us (elderly people or the golden age). But we don't let the pain wear us down. We take whereever we find Arnica Gel to massage it into to aching places. It may help you too. Life has to go one without pain Love Emile.

Rose, I practice Reiki energy healing. It works for aches and pains, I pretty much have a pain free life. Sometimes I have to go get re-adjusted after carry my grandson for hours..he's a whole 26 lbs.
But all in all pain is not an issue for me.

Did you know that pain is also a memory? You should look up reiki healers in your area, they can do amazing things for you.

I wish you peace, love and light,

Pain is no fun, Rose; trust me. I know. But I'd rather be cold than hot, although the winter can be hard on my arthritis. Hope you feel better soon!
