I look Around The Home & See
JUNE 18, 2025
By Rose Marie Rideout
Look at all those Angels there,
Gathered from those who really care.
They know the things I love so much,
Angels wings and fairy dust.
On another shelf close by I see,
So many Firemen that's meant to be.
It tells of how precious life once was,
What they have given just because.
Sitting on a desk close by,
Are memories, which makes me cry.
My poems & writings through each year,
Telling stories of how I care.
My husband's Military memories,
Photos, certificates are there to see.
Such a wonderful life we've had,
Never a reason to ever be sad.
My coffee & end tables, 41 years or so,
Built by a special friend of so long ago.
Coins collected by others for to see,
Are presented in a case so proudly.
All the things that help make a life,
Through many years of a husband & wife.
Memories through so many years,
When we look around, with happy tears.
I'm putting all of my old articles and presentations on the Internet because I'm not sure if they will be appreciated anymore by my family who is now so spread out and disconnected. I rarely have contact with them except my four siblings.
I don't have a military family like yours except during World War II. But I do have a great uncle who had black lung but still managed to live until he was 98 who was fire chief for the city of Sheboygan Wisconsin.
