There are only five of us left in our family. Frank, Rose, Lena, Marion and Gerald. We are very close to each other and always was. We think about the years gone by and all the love we shared and always will. It was so nice to be together today to celebrate our sister Lena's 75th. Birthday. It was a blessing. Love to all of you.

Five Loving Siblings

July 29, 2025

By Rose Marie Rideout

Once there was a large family,

There were eight of us kids together.

We spent all our time outside playing,

It didn't matter about the weather.

We knew what time to come home,

Because we weren't very far away.

Mom would call out to us, it's time,

We knew that was the end of our day.

We remember the huge kitchen table,

We all sat around to eat our meal each day.

Mom cooked home cooked all the time,

Before we ate she would make us pray.

Never an unkind word spoken,

We knew how for each to love and care.

Mom taught us from the day we were born,

How to help each other and share.

It was sad as we all grew up,

Moved on to make lives of our own.

How we missed the love we knew,

How we missed being young in our home.

The love never died as we were away,

But sad that we had to part.

We kept in touch all the time,

The love grew larger within our heart.

Over the years some soon were called,

To go to a greater place up above.

We miss them each and everyday,

Our hearts still filled with grief and love.

Today five of us stand together,

Though we all live far apart,

We keep in touch with each other,

With a love so deep in our heart.

Your story poem of your family shows a lot of love and togetherness.

Although I've had political differences with my family we keep in touch through the Internet. But it's been years since by four siblings and I have been together… 2005… I believe, when I drove 1200 miles to be at my younger brother's second wedding.
