Soft spring rains
Fall upon the newly reborn earth
Nourishing the trees and flowers
And releasing the earthworms
From the ground
Hardpacked
By winter cold.
Birds sing joyously
From green willows
While honeybees hum
From blossom to blossom
In the pastel spring garden;
A gentle breeze
Toys with the chimes
Hanging from
The shepherds hook
Surrounded by yellow iris
And ruffles the fur
On the squirrels tail
As it searches for tidbits
In the damp grass.
Always find it so amazing how each Spring it seems the earth comes alive and breathes a sigh of relief making it through another cold, dark winter, just beautiful...
