Poem Artwork

Are you for real?
It is a question
I keep asking
Over and over
Again.
For over thirty years
I've been taught
And retaught
That I held nothing
A man would want
And no one before
Has ever tried
To disprove
Me of the notion.
Now you have come
With your honeyed words
And easy manner
And I am stymied
By your apparent acceptance
Of me and my faults;
I don't know
What to make of you...
Experience says "Run!"
Even as my lonely soul
Opens to you
Like a desert flower
After a rain.
Am I but a vessel
To be used
And then discarded,
Or do you, in fact,
Hold me
In some kind regard?
Tred gently with me,
A small voice pleads,
Lest I be lost
Forever.

Please, dangerous swing ahead, use your brakes and for heavens sake don't pick up a love hitchhhiker.

Enjoy, though keep your eyes open beyond words. Value your true-self, remembering to never sell yourself short. S-l-o-w d-o-w-n. Be safe. Good luck. Good write.

Cautiously optimistic at the uncertainty of it all, yet perhaps through God's guidence he knew what you were needing and it is through his love this person has crossed your path as you have crossed his....

Be always safe,
Karen

I pray he is real, Rebecca, just be cautious. Risking your heart isn't worth it, you know? Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

On the Edge of Words by Debra Kraft

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
