Crash!
Crack!
Boom!
The stormy drama
Wakes me
From a sound sleep
To find
Two dogs
And a kitten
Piled into bed
Alongside
And atop me,
And as they tremble
I revel
In the blue-white flashes
With their immediate
Cacophony,
Making my pulse pound
Even as I offer
Soothing words
And gentle pets
To calm
My nervous beasts.
