Must not have been me. Never wore cologne. But I wouldn't violate a woman's senses with unwashed smells unless she liked them. I find men that wear cologne in the workplace repulsive. They are either hiding the fact they didn't shower or they are gay.
Otherwise, a great poem with a wonderful simile comparing the dawn with a lover slipping out.
Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
before you dare open that door. You could get the same treatment.
Or not.
