Free Love

my love is priceless but it’s free
to you... if you want it

i won’t try to change or rearrange you
be it friend or lover

but if you come closer to me
you will change,
in ways you never imagined

your heart will enlarge
your capacity for love will deepen
you will know you are loved in return

i hope you can share my heart
with all the others i loved before

they are still there
in the place reserved for each of them
but they are no threat to the present, to us

i am aware that those you loved
are still living deep inside your heart,
in eternal compartments you built for them

i welcome them, for they shaped you
into the man you have become
they taught you love, broke your heart
and made it ready to become my home

my love is free and comes with no chains
and no expectations... except
to have your love in return

so if you want it, just let go of doubt
and don’t hold back from me
the thoughts, the dreams, the needs
and yes, the wounds

my words are whispers of serenity
hurricane winds of passion
my hands are healing, my lips therapeutic

if you stay a long time... forever
or you decide to sojourn with me briefly
your soul will be touched
changed and opened wide to love
