Weigh Your Words
By La Belle Rouge

please weigh your words
carefully

make sure you’ll feel them
tomorrow
before you say them today

i am a strange combination of
strength
and feminine fragility

don’t expect to make love today
then
call me just your friend tomorrow

please weigh your words
carefully

i love, too easily, too deeply for
games
or back burner romances

don’t warm me in your fire
then
burn me with your indifference

decide what you really want
before
you ask for something you don’t

weigh your words, remember
love is a verb

with dark Knights Love is more than a verb-it is passion and Romance and never being a memory of regret for old age-beautiful poetry my friend-sounds to me like someone somewhere has stolen your heart--Lucky guy

Don't need to weigh my words because I am sure no one with a pulsating heart can, or will, start the fire and burn everything with indifference, but to warm someone trembling from an unknown cold breeze, yes, they are few around that can.

Belle,

Can one conjugate a verb? This is powerful and said so well. Spoken with the true heart and soul of a poet.

Darlin, it is sometimes the cat and mouse that becomes just plain confusing in the end. Like a dog chasing its own tail, sometimes we have been going round in circles so long that what started off as the thrill of the chase becomes the chastisement that kills. Ahh, but to have known love at all... perhaps infinitely better than to wake up one morning aware that all along there HAS actually only ever been a passionate indifference. You go on verb-ing and we will go on adjective-ing... like sincere, honest, cognisant and plain damn good! :)) Love Kate xx

Very well stated. Yes, people sometimes just don't realize how their words affect others. Good poetry here, Belle..

Baby Girl You need to hear the words, but also need action to back the words up! Talk is cheap, but coming to you with arms to embrace you is what a real man will do! LOVE YOU! Sissy SC
