If I could take all the pain
we both feel
all the regrets and if only's
all the impossible situations
that bring us despair
place it in neat little piles
label it for what it is
and what caused it
then package it up
in vacuum sealed plastic bags
throw it into an eternal freezer
I would
I would thaw out laughter
and lightness of spirit
the kind neither of us has had
in so many long aching years
I would fill huge balloons
that were all colors of the rainbow
with weightless floating joy
untie all the strings
and watch those balloons dance
in the autumn breeze
and rise upward into the sun
if I could be an angel
be queen of the world
or even my own little corner of it
there would be summer gardens
and revolving carousels
there would be no more tears
in either of our eyes,
only love and laughter
no more sorrow in our hearts
only the beauty of life
and warmth of desire
born of true affection
and we'd forget all those little bags
stored forever in the freezer
The lightheartedness of this topic is most uplifting. You have such a wonderful way of saying the most fundamental aspects of life, and giving them wings on which to fly above it all.
Welcome back!!! long time no see...
Your poem reminds me about "fears being balloons full of hot air" which at cooling off will fall like pitiful wrinkled emptiness.
Nice and colorful.

...positive thoughts...and hopeful pen...give significance to the word...CHILL. In wishing...your write gives us reason to rise above.
Wonderful La Belle...

Lovely verse to ponder Belle, thanks to the poetess who wrote this,
tell her that I love her dearly, as time passes on yearly. Of course words are cheap, but I think these will keep. Keep about as good as any, even though they don't equal many. Surely we are far apart, but poetically we are in each others heart, have been right from the start. Each day we love and share, and to others try to lovenly care.
Thought your lovely poem deserved a proper respond even though I know I'm not the one. Nothing wrong with a good fantasy or wish, at least I'm not a fish. Because if I was I get fried, sliced up and multiplied. Divided amoungst the masses, to feed their hungry azzes.
Hey I wouldn't mind being in your sandwich of food, I go on down smiling in great mood. Then I'd infest, so forget about the digest.
I wouldn't leave, hehe
From the intique of the title, to the bright cheery graphic, to the main body of the poem that makes a wish that is as wonderful to fathom as a miracle...this poem has it all and took all my attention from beginning to end. Well done dear Belle...well done.
If all our problems could go away this easily life would be beautiful and one we could deal with easier. Your words are those of hope and faith and their beauty gives reason to keep on going.
Love,
Susan
This reminds me of one I wrote a long time ago, "I Wish". How one wishes they could take all of life's frustration and pain and just let it go...beautifully imaged, midi'd, and penned, La Belle.
I do, frequently... Those little bags turn to crystals in the end, I'm sure! :)) Your thoughts are pure helium in this write Belle. Life is waaaaaaaaay too short to be grounded and to not taste each breath of life as we take it in. I love this analogy... I seem to live with those who themselves put life on ice for later, so this is wholly uplifting! :)) K xx

Ah, yes, but unfortunately it is difficult to bag it all up . . . Not impossible, but very difficult . . . Just when you think everything is air-sealed, never to return again, then a sigh, a look, a word brings them all back. . . Oh, yes, been there, done that . . .
Belle,
A very uplifting poem..no pun intended..One cannot change the past, only live in the present and not worry about tomorrow. Very lovely poem with much to think over.
