Remembering Me
By La Belle Rouge

you can run, faraway, so far
close forever the bulky volume
of my adoring love poetry
but you will never outrun
lingering memories of my love
or the power of my words
to caress your forlorn heart
and set your passion afire

you have firmly purposed
never to think of me....but
think of me you do and will
until you have no thoughts
yes, it’s true i’ll still be there
in all your fleeting thoughts
in the final feeble heartbeat
in your last labored breath

would to God you had never
said you loved me, wanted me
then crushed my soul to dust
with a heavy heel of indifference
you will think of me, long for me
remember what you discarded
curse the same breath wherein
you whispered deceitful love words

you’ve not been happy since
no one can love you like i did
you will never be happy again
you spit in the face of fate
and mistook treasure for trash
none can warm your cold bed
or your numb, slowly dying heart
you’ll live and die remembering me

So powerful and assertive..He will be in no doubt whatsoever as to what he has lost!`I Love this poems haughty,(I can almost see the toss of the head) passion, yet there is such underlying sadness too. Love, Diana.

Methinks he has no choice... Your passion both ways must be burning in his heart, on his mind and searing a hole in his soul at the very mention of your name, Darlin. Makes me think of Hotel California: "You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!" Perhaps you should apply to be his Nurse...!! A searing postscript to his bulky volume. Perhaps he'll eat his/your words?! You certainly know how to express yourself, Belle... in or out of love. Keep those heels sharpened.... Love, Kate xx

Man, "You" is really in some hot water! I agree, he'll live haunted and hellish-like. Who made the foolish decision? We all err. For certain mistakes, the price is steep. Cheers

Very sad write when we look back and see the mistakes that love sometimes encourages and know there is no way to correct wrongs committed. Well done Belle.

This one has a bite to it, but so artfully and delicately explained. So full of emotions and a very passionate reminder of what could have been....

Be always safe,

He will be perhaps wriggling his toes in the shore waters of the Santee, reminiscing times past and savoring the next reincarnation when he would teach you his name...so you will never forget.
Oh! he does remember...do you?
