the miles, they seem
so insignificant now
as though they passed
in a moment’s thought
the only evidence left,
sore feet and tired eyes
a used heart laboring
to add another beat
and who really cares
about the river of tears
that flows along the way
except the one who cried?
such a perverse path
sometimes running free
chasing elusive laughter
like sunshine’s children
with nothing better to do
but more often a twisted
labyrinth of shadows
feeling walls with hands
navigating a maze of tunnels
like a blind man with no cane
and the miles, they lay now
a long frayed ribbon of gray
specters sailing time’s sea
shrouded in memory’s fog
gone but not forgotten
the only consolation being,
never to be traveled again,
they have finally passed
as in a moment’s thought
creating strength to journey
beyond the road behind
A passionate and poignant memoir written by a woman whose life has been guided by the words: "I am here to learn how to love well." The book is a deep examination of relationships, family, motivation, and honoring of the Self.
Join me as we travel together on the road called "Aging." I will be sharing my personal experiences with you and offer ideas on how we can better navigate the complex byways of our older years. Grief, healing, generations, ancestors, and more.
Sherlyn Powell opens up about her love and devotion to her family and the overwhelming repercussion when communication breaks down. Heartbroken and distraught she learns to release her prayer and realize with faith God would reunite her family.
