Created For Butterflies
By La Belle Rouge

her shoulders were
created for butterflies
and adoring lip service
neither broad nor strong
soft and alluring
ivory blushed with pink
leaning in toward him
revealing womanly charms
below her neckline
as ears caught each word
and simpatico jade eyes
warmly embraced
the dark nucleus of his

she knew him behind the mask
being familiar with the whys
within his desperate darkness
she had carried too much
with dainty feminine hands
clutched in her slender arms
embedded in congested mind
where stark impossibility met
impossible strength head on
and smooth shoulders
created for butterfly dances
bowed low like willows
under elephant stampedes

A woman, a butterfly and a summer breeze, stir softly, feel the bouquet, the softness...they are only for you.

LaBelle,
Beautifully sensuous in every way - language, phrasing, choice of imagery, the imagery above all.

Sorry I missed this earlier, Belle, because I think
it is one of your best--and that's high praise.

This totally blows me away, Belle. Such a unique and powerful idea that is all the stronger because of the delicacy and tenderness of insight you have couched the images in. Your choice of musical accompaniment also complements to make this almost like the opener to a kind of thriller-romance movie somehow... Whatever, it sends goose-bumps all up and down my spine! :)) This is, conceptually, one of your very best for me. And so good to see you again, Darlin. You are missed. xx

As warm and tender as a first kiss, or perhaps the soft touch of forever lovers...not of lust...but of tender reaassurance. Very nicely done indeed.

Amazing how fitly chosen words can transport us into exotic places, and introduce us to characters we've never met. Very enjoyable poem, La Belle!
