I opened my soul and let them go
out into the gapping void of forever
tossed on dark laughter’s wild wind
I watched them shimmer and dance
with abandonment on moonbeams
ice skaters gliding into oblivion
the petite pieces of what was left
of me
shredded in a sieve of conflict
mangled in a lengthy war of wills
I let go of what you did to me
what was your fault, what was not
is insignificant and I don’t have
the strength to sort it all out now
or the will to even worry about
blame
isn’t it strange, wickedly funny
forgiveness can't change the past
the chains you forged with cruelty
are broken with my acquiescence
that what has been simply has been
there is nothing left for you to take
from the one who wanted to give it
once
Sad with the longing of what once was till a trust was broken...never to recapture. So beautifully poignant

Forgiveness is an overused emotion in my opinion. I have found out the hard way, you can forgive all you want, but once that bridge has been burnt, or the words or deeds said and done, thing s are NEVER the same and moving on is the order of the day.
Stunning times two, the longing, the sadness, the hurt of past misdeeds seep from the edges of this like blood seeps from a raw wound not guite bandaged properly.
