Salley Sue R-Ed And The Brothers Ed
By Salley Sue

I knew them buzzards way back when
They was a buncha crazies even back then!
I know about their backwoods redneck roots
Theys still a groupa nutty unwashed coots
Cept for Tiger Lily, who is powrful clean
and ole Mama Ed who used to treat me mean

I’m a distant, VERY distant, cousin of the Eds
The kinda cousin that in the hilz we weds
Back in the day Mama Ed didn’t like me none
cause I’s alwaz makin eyes at her elder son
Ole Edvard was awful sweet on me for sure
He had Mama Ed fooled, thinkin he wuz pure

Ignernt of what went on in the gote barn
Mama Ed didn’t feel no mamarly alarm
Edvard was not just a stink but sneak
always tryin at my jugs to take a peek
Mama Ed would preach ’em all a fiery sermun
and Ole Edvard in hiz seat would be squrmun

Little PeeWeeeeee Ed acted a mite touched
livin in the woods with the squirrels and such
A stay dog come up the path every day or two
til the Ed’s mountain cabin looked like a zoo
I can still hear Mama Ed yellin “Git them
critters outa here PeeWee, now shooooo”

Jersey Ed, got that name later of course,
when he runned off to live up in the north
Tha mountain air wuz fresher when he went
but of his dirty ways he just don’t repent
The gulls dropped dead on the jersey shore
Poor birds couldn’t take tha smell no more

Tiger Lily, me and her wuz good frenz
we used to hide her Mama’s depends
Her Mama would holler “Who done that?
You boys is as sneaky as a kitchen rat”
Me and Tiger’d laugh our azzes off then
cause her brothers done got blamed AGAIN

I hope this clears up any confuzion
doubts about the Ed saga you’ll be luzing
It’s all true , they’s a rowdy raunchy bunch
Sometimes they still eat road kill for lunch
Cause take a redneck outa the backwood
but them roots is in em and in em for good

If Mama Ed sees me to this very day
she grabs Ole Edvard’s hand and hollers
“You Redheaded Bitch, git away”

Belle at her very very best...you always make me sit up, yes, I'm repeating myself but no apology for that...just look at the phrasing, the way the lines are delivered..."Tha mountain air wuz fresher when he went"...how good is that! It's bloody marvellous.

Oh yes!

Hee Haw, and Hey There, our old Cousin Sally Sue R-Ed,
The Kind of a Cousin, in them hills, the old Eds did wed,
I still got lots of them there critters under my cabin bed,
But don't tell Ma or Mean Tall Woman, or I'm a gonna be dead.

And you should quit wastin yer time with our old, old Brother Edvard,
He just sits around, drinkin his moonshine, and passes out in Ma's yard.

As for that other old rascal our Brother Jersey The Devil Ed,
He's gonna send you some Road Kill Stew, is what he done said.

Yer Old Cuz, The Pee Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
