You have certainly captured the very quiddity of deer, Belle; how they absolutely take our breath away and leave us wondering, caught up in their delicacy of being and mystical, almost shadowy comings and goings. To witness them is akin to magic and we feel a sense of privilege - touched by their gift of innate grace in a troubled world. Beautiful lightness of touch in this piece. xx

Belle, a gentle departure from the poet's normal subjects, and I for one enjoyed it. The deer's freedom to roam far and wide, without recognition of the boundaries we humans establish for ourselves for an endless number of reasons does not exist in their world. They seek only the essentials to sustain life, we, seek the esoteric to

Yes, Yes Yes! They are very spiritual creatures. I have often wondered myself what it would be like to be a deer. Somehow around this time of the year, deer are ever so special.
I have load of deer in my area and I always spot one at least once a day.

The true story of Cheryl Pierson Cuccio who made headlines in 1986 and her husband Rob Cuccio. Cheryl was abused sexually and physically and Rob died for 43 minutes on Cheryl's 43rd birthday.
She never felt safe at home as a young girl, and didn't understand why when she finally escaped she wasn't safe in the big wide world either ...effectively jumping out of the frying pan into the fire!
