that field mouse doesn't stand a chance against me
the tip of my tail is all anyone can see
I'll hunker down and JUMP when it's time
and that little mousey will be mine, all mine
I've got cabin fever, it's been snowing for days
a hunting trip where the field mouse plays
will make me feel alive like a brand new cat
I'll sneak out the door without a coat or hat
I love my tail, it's so fashionable, elegant, long
but rising above the snow is just wrong
it gives away my strategic, attack position
and makes my quest an impossible mission
I'm a great, famous hunter of all birds and mice
a mouse hunt in the snow will be so nice
even if I don't catch him, I'll still play
and tomorrow will be another hunting day
Mine used to bring them in the house like toys lol. I had to watch that sneaky guy. He would hold it down with his paw until I opened the door and then quickly pick him up and run in the house. I really enjoyed your write.

Great to see a cat do it's job. I never could figure people out who pen their cats in an unnatural environment like the indoors and make them poop in a box. They are most happy when they can go outdoors for that stuff. They are a predator anyway. That's why we domesticated them, or they us, to protect our homes from vermin. Incidentally I enjoyed your words and rhyme. Good reading. Bob
Casts have the required predatory skills to survive. A little snow may slow them down but it will not stop them. The mice cannot see their tails anyway, they are much lower to the ground than the cat! This is a fine kitty story!
I love this catty poem that fits the picture so well. House cats have one advantage. If they don't catch that field mouse, it's okay, because a warm bowl of milk is waiting, along with some very fishy cat food when they get back in the house from the cold.
I’ve encountered many non-human creatures on my life’s journey.
I have found each and every one of these animals to be a unique and wondrous being.
Animals have truly brought fullness to my life. Some of them have also brought de

Our cats don't eat their prey, they just use them
for ping pong balls. Great fun to watch.
Love ya!

Oh! this poem is so fun to read. My kitty Sam looked like the
one in your picture. His eyes were as green.
