A Christmas Love Poem

He Waits For Me

Beneath the fabled mistletoe
my lover waits for me
his scent is like a woods in spring
to my soul his love he brings

with kisses kind and passionate
he showers my lips and skin
his hands are slow and tender
with fingertips made for sin

no time exists when love is wrong
and when sharing it is base
I cherish our times together
and adore laugh lines in his face

he waits for me and I shall be
ever close enough to hear his call
at Yuletide and every time of year
we love with our spiritual all

The mistletoe really makes it easy for those seeking a way for a little intimacy among the crowd. But from experience, at times like this, those with the intent of a little clandestine nuance seem to find it off in a room somewhere in the house where no one is.

I hope you will encounter him this Christmas as you go about your holiday get-togethers.
