The Christmas Candle

How exquisite the Christmas angel
adorning the highest bough
she lights the room with her glow
reminding us again of how
angels sang so long ago

So beautiful chime the church bells
casting carols sweet upon the night
spreading near and far the tidings
born in Bethlehem is the light
the Father's love abiding

sadly some chairs are empty now
the circle unbroken remains
though mortals may not know how
hearts bound in love remain the same

the light of Christmas shines
like a candle in our night
revealing ties that bind
forever in God's light

This poem could be made into a Christmas Carole. The words are so appropriate and warming at Christmas time.
