My Lover
You are the quintessential lover
women long for and should have
a long suffering, tender heart
passionate kisses and gentle hands
balanced by masculine aggression
shown only when appropriate
sensual whispers in the dark
acceptance of my many faults
walks on the beach together
affectionate kindness to my pet
you didn't ask to accommodate
you are mystic music in my heart
you are the man I depend on
for love, protection, guidance
burdens, decisions, and rewards
are easier, better shared with you
you inhabit my circling dreams
share my waking experiences
my friend, my lover, my soul
the husbandman of my vineyard
the gardener of all that is good
in the garden of my fantasies
my cherished quintessential lover
such as women long for and few have
Sandie
I am envious, all I got was a gardener without the green thumb and when he left all I had was thorns and weeds.Seriously though, apart from being totally jealous you everything you write,I love this poem and all of your poetry.
