Little boy with your red cap on
and a smile that lights up your face.
You joined the team of baseball friends
and you swing the bat like an ace.
To see you run the bases there
and to watch you play the game.
Makes this grammas heart just burst with pride
every time they speak your name.
When you have the time in your brand new world
a hug would be most welcome.
Then I'll sit right back and smile real big
while a hometown hero you become.
I love the first year of baseball for these 8 year olds. How exciting they all are to play.

You must be a lovely grandmother. I love baseball too.
sharron- great write about one of life's simple pleasures. i too have an 8 yr. old grandson playin' baseball. try to make all the games. it really brings a smile to my heart. thanks for the read.-steve
