Bathed Beneath The Morning Light

These cobblestones that line the shore
Overlapped by water, they glisten
Beneath the early morning light

Beside the brook
The reeds swayed gently
In the breeze

I can still remember the sweet fragrance of wild flowers
Their scent so alluring and pleasant
Before the dawn

In the distance the faded sounds of sparrows singing
As they play amongst the leaves
So meek and yet the mighty oak stood tall
To proud to bend before the fall

And through the fields
The grass swayed gently
As the clouds drift slowly by
Where the leaves, they fell so softly
Bathed beneath the morning light
