Calmly beneath the stars I sit and wonder
There in the distance are the sounds of thunder
For in the universe they have their place
As do I within this race
Beside the sandy shore
I can hear the ocean as it roars
Where waves now rest forever more
Upon this hollowed sandy shore
Calmly as I sit and breathe
The breeze rustles through the trees
As I watch the falling leaves
Serenity fill thy place within me
Where for out thou heaven
Beneath thy stars this night
Where I now wait beside the shore
Beneath your loving light
Unpardon me but I relent it boldly;
For it is far ahead, if I can be sure of it,
And far it is, that my hallucination be valid,
And hallucination it is, as it should be,
And however, unlike itself, mysterious, unknown, and untested,
So it be foreseen in my tireless search.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
