For all of the Special Kids in our lives, and especially their parents. I can't begin to imagine what they've been through (and don't want to try).

They said you wouldn't live very long. You sure showed them a thing or two! They didn't know you--you proved them wrong. They underestimated you!
They said you'd die before you were five. You said that they were very rude! They said they doubted that you'd survive. They didn't know your attitude!
They said you would never walk. You walked. You defied them time and again. They said you would never talk. You talked. They know more now than they did then.
They didn't know what I saw each day. You had your good days, bad ones, too. They didn't see your fears on display. They didn't know what you went through.
They gave up on you before I did. And, although you're in Heaven now, They didn't know MY Special Kid! Who defined bravery--and how.
Excellent write here. I saw buried deep in our local paper that he died yesterday. Didn't know if ya saw that in news.

Karla, you pulled everything form me with this ... tears, love, wanting to in some way give something from inside of me to this child. Heaven indeed. Without a doubt! Heaven is where the inequalities of life are no more. The child is made perfect to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Oh I can't express how well this poem was writtten. It's subject ... the little child ...

BRILLIANT poem on the plight of autistic kids (i may be wrong)...AUTISM can be a sign of abnormal BRILLIANCE in OTHER SPHERES of life...
