Poem Artwork

hey, God.
i can't sleep.
do you mind if i wake You?
too much is on my mind--
everything--
i gotta talk to somebody.
                                        for instance,
                                        what do You look like?
                                        do i look like
                                        You?
                                        or do You look like
                                        me?
why did you make me?
why am i here?
right now,
right here...
and why am I...
human?
                                        WHAT ABOUT HATE?
                                        WHY ARE THERE WARS?
why can't You stop it?
can't you just snap
Your fingers
and stop it?
i don't understand.
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE?
                                        why did it take You
                                        six days
                                        to create the universe?
                                        why did You make
                                        bugs
                                        and terrorists?  (they scare me.)
why is there sickness
and disasters
and why does something
so beautiful
as love have to hurt so bad?
WHY IS THERE PAIN?
                                        hey, God.
now i lay me down to sleep,
i pray the Lord my soul to keep.

if i should die before i wake,
i pray the Lord my soul to take.
                                        Good night, thanks for listening.
AMEN.

Oh Karla,

Beautifully expressed dear one, so many honest and powerful questions that I am sure so many have asked before. May you find time and peace to sleep, and let God take care, he knows what he does, even if we cannot understand. My motto "God never hands out more than he knows you can handle" take care and be strong Karla.

warm hugs and love your friend in SA

This is too good. A casual conversation with God. I like the way you formatted it. It follows a scattered pattern of thinking... as in late at night... when you can't go to sleep.
