It was Santa at the door. :) (See "Santa Never Comes Around Here.")
No, it was more than that...much more, a miracle from Heaven! And I'm off Christmas day...another answer to prayer!
While we're gathered together for the Christmas holiday, surrounded by family and friends, remember those whose loved ones aren't here.
And when we're feasting on turkey (complete with all the trimmings) and celebrating a day off from work, remember those who are hungry or have to work.
And when we're opening presents, throwing gift wrap every which way and exclaiming over each new wonder, remember those who have lost everything.
And when we cozy up next to a warm fireplace, watching the snow falling out there, remember those who have no home to go to.
And when we turn out the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree or run a hot bath to soak in, remember those who don't have these luxuries.
And when we go to bed at night, safe and warm under the covers in a land where we're free, remember those that fought for us or are still at war.
Be grateful for what you have this Christmas morning; many aren't as fortunate as we've been ... remember, there but for the Grace of God, go I.
Don't be generous only on this day; make the Christmas season last every day of the year ... be an angel or a Santa Claus to someone and be a blessing.
You could make even the Grinch and that old Miser, himself, Ebenezer Scrooge, cry buckets of tears after they read this beautiful Christmas reminder! Very well done; I hope you have the best Christmas EVER!! Merry Christmas, dear twin, and know that you are the best Christmas Present I could have ever gotten! Glad we are spending it together! Happy New Year, too, and may it be full of prosperity and good health! God bless you!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :D
Karla, your words speak what should be in everyone heart, not only now but throughout the year...beautifully said...
Merry Christmas to you and yours...
Thank you for being a blessing to all the den and in my life. I am so thankful to hear you will be able to spend the day with family/friends and not working (too hard again, right?). A wonderful poem, Karla.
You are so right, Karla, we do have much to be thankful for. Even when we think we have nothing or we curse the dawn of another day when we have to work when others do not, we still have so much more than most of the people in the world. Many who don't have work would consider it a blessing to work on Christmas. Many who don't have food would feel blessed to have what we throw away. As we complain about the high cost of fuel and of heating our homes there are those who have no home, no car and no heat. As we sing "Silent Night" remember that there are no silent nights for the soldier who takes his watch, fear racing through his veins each time the wind moves the sand. As we read the cards we are given on Christmas Day, understand the blessing of being able to read and write. There is so very much we take for granted and so often we even curse our blessiings, as we see ourselves as slaves to our lifestyles. There is no better time than today start being grateful for all that we have and sharing a little more than we think that we can with those are in need. Wondrful write, Karla.
Take care,
Sherry
I couldn't agree more, lets have Christmas everyday and everyone be a blessing. You truly are a Blessing Karla, Have a wondeful Christmas and equally wonderful New Year.
This is a wonderful reminder of what is truely important, during this Christmas season and, as you have stated, all year around. Maybe it should be read a couple times a week by everyone to not forget...we will and promise to keep on caring.
Much love and hugs and a merry Christmas! (enjoy your day off!)

Wisdom rolls through this wonderful sharing. GREAT write.
You're the angel on the top of the tree, Karla. Such a message in the giftwrap of humankind. A tinsel and angel hair of a poem this is. May the spirit flow through you from the tips of the pine-scented evergreen needles. Blessed be.
