Karen's Social Security application: denied. "Not disabled enough." Right. She was told, BY HER DOCTORS, that she was "permanently disabled and will never be able to work again." Sounds disabled to me...........
Let's see: arthritis; anemia; high blood pressure; vision and hearing loss; learning disabilities. Colostomy. And she's not disabled?? Something wrong here..........PRAY FOR US.
We're living on my VA "disability", a pittance...THAT'S IT. The system fails at every turn.

when is security not security? when you're denied it.
when is denial not denial? when you fight to get what you deserve.
ANSWER ME THIS was a hard read because the truth is so disturbing and far too many people can attest to its validity. This is one of the greatest reasons more U.S. government attention is needed on domestic fronts at home than on military fronts abroad. The last line makes this poem a masterpiece that should be included in one anthology after another.

What a modern-day travesty this is when one has to fight for something that she is deserving of. What a sad commentary about the current state of America. Shame, shame, shame on the bueracracy.
They only seek to discourage you ... hang in there. Many people will quit at this point and that is exactly what they are counting on. If you continue to fight, you will win.
I will pray for you both! They say government has compassion, then we see the Katrina truth, where they deny "At Will" the human element of need.

My good God, my heart goes out to you. I have a friend who went through something similar. She has two children and cannot drive a vehicle because she takes epileptic seizures, but was denied a disability. Go figure! Keep fighting, and I'll keep praying, love holly
Don't ever give up the fight, follow the advise of the others...just keep bugging them. My prayers are added to the other heading your way. Take care you two and never quit...

A grimm picture of what the world has become today my friend...I guess you need more that one doctor's reports...say three...and if not granted yet..take legal stops or toi-toi the streets like they do here to get theit attention!!

A touching and heart wrenching look at the grim reality of social security...we will pray on, for God is able to take control and resolve this situation, He did for my mom who was also disabled and denied...she to has three types of arthritus, and two steel rods for a spine, border line diabetic, and suffered two heart attacks...Praise the Lord she is still alive and well, and the social security board passed her for her disability...prayer changes things...expect it and believe!

Once I wrote a poem called "Man is a cold winter" and it applies here 100%. I didn't fought WWII, Korea and Vietnam to see my fellow citezen to be treated in such a manner.
I didn't fought for the country so we can send ten billion dollars to the reconstruction of Kabul but not of New Orleans.
I didn't fought so we can stashed away the disable so we can save a few bucks.

aMy heart reaches out to you across the miles for I am fighting similar battles here in Canada. I was forced out of a government job of 30 years with a medical discharge because their doctors decided I was permanently disabled, try telling that to taxation. So I am with you in the fight.
Karla, you have the right to a hearing and counsel that you don't have to pay for. Please phone your medicaid office and see if you can't get it from social security, you can get it from medicaid. All she needs is a doctors letter. I hope you follow through, it takes time and patience, but she will be all set once she gets it.
I feel so bad for you both. Karen does not deserve this treatment, but that is the way they are. I will keep you in my prayers. I will also pray for you to have the strength to fight this travesty! Your application should never have been turned down, but that's the government for you.

They played that crap with Melissa as well, told her that her disability wasn't permenanent, she had to fight and fight hard, and they did not treat her well, I am sorry I am venting here, I saw some of what Melissa went through, and I had to fight for mine as well, I was told I wasn't disabled enough, and yet I could not work, and my muscles were starting to deterioriate, Karen will get it though, I have faith in the Lord above.
