Yep. Katrina was a bitch all right. I missed her visit by a few decades. Many years ago, I was a weather forecaster at Gulfport on the Gold Coast. I was lucky. There were no hurricanes that year.

Karla, this is really something. "like in-laws you don't like." An uninvited guest for sure. Your intruder personification of that storm is superb. I'm glad you survived it, but so many didn't. Devastation at its ugliest.
The sad thing wasn't only Katrine, the sad thing was and is that this nation is not prepared to helpits citizens at the drop of the hat.
We were in force when in some remote land a earthquake desvastated cities, with food, blankes, mobil hospitals, evacuation teams...the works.
When it happened here, all the Nation's resources were lamed, and long long time after, it was from private citizens and celebrities that the help would come.
Katrina wasn't only a big storm, it was also SHAME.

Hurricane Katrina was a very bad one, bad like Hurricane Andrew was to Florida. So many broken lives, broken dreams, broken hopes. Thank you, a good write, enjoyed.
