... Spoke too soon; counted chickens before they hatched (probably would have drowned, anyway). More rain. Concerts cancelled; life planned between showers bursting from the clouds, waiting to see if the Fourth will go on or if it will be a dud ... wettest June on record, now. Over eleven inches of wet. July looks to be the same, if experts can be believed: one good thing, temperatures are nice: will this be the year without a summer? Time will tell. Sure seems to be that way .....

Sum-are too wet,
Sum-are too dry.
For an 'in-between stage,
I certainly cry.
Hope that you saw little losses with the flooding, dear lady!
Now...stop spinning those storms and you will stay drier!!!
Sorry, I went and came back more brownish than an old saddle, summer, this one in particular, has been good to me.
Throw the umbrella and let the rain wash away the disappointment.

I would not mind a year without Summer...but not full of rain. If only it could be Spring all the year. Keep safe and sane there...this too shall pass.

And here we are in a drought. No worries about running water into the septic systems. The roses can heard sighing in tune with each sprinkler pass. Yep, it's one for the record books all around I guess. Stay dry Karla and bottle some of that rain water for my white roses!
I think it's hot enough in Texas and wet enough to be dayumed near tropical. Let me know when you all spot the first Flamingo.

Average summer temp along the North Oregon Coast is 68d. Truly hope the rain lets up for the 4th, for you, but just in case this stretches out to 40 days of rain, perhaps you shoulda built that ark.

I may be wrong but isn't this the same little Texas gal that complained there was no rain at all last summer? Just razzing you Karla. We have been rained in here pretty much too.

I personally could live with a year without a summer, especially if the temps stay in the 70's, oh that would be wonderful, but not too much rain, we live in wetlands as it is...;) Ed
The rain may be a pain, but the temperatures are WONDERFUL! Hpoe that on the Fourth we see REAL fireworks, NOT nature's fireworks (remember 1969 and the world's quickest fireworks display?? WOW! I hope we don't have a reaccurance of that; once was more than enough!! WHEE!)! Very well penned; hope the sun comes out for us soon; Lord knows, we need a break. from. all. this. blasted. RAIN!! Rain is quickly becoming a P A I N!!!!!

Karla, This rain is something else and you all are getting it a lot worse than we are. We're getting it again today and look to have it all weekend, here in the Houston area, but we've had nothing like the flooding conditions, elsewhere in Texas. I feel for everyone affected in the Hill Country and up your way. The pictures of TV are heartbreaking.
Hang in there, write your way through it and things will, undoubtedly, get better and drier, soon. I hope anyway.
