Why it is that when we hear about the eye of the storm one image comes to mind...a baleful eye, like Nature is sending a big blow to to put out our candle of arrogance.

SUPERB.. REminds me of an old QUote from Richard Nixon I heard during an old ANthony Hopkins Movie, He ws a Quaker President. The Eye of the Storm is Peace in The Center, Well Done. "Donny"

I've never seen [except in pics] the eye of the storm.
Yet, your poem reminded me of the personal storms in my life. Yes, it is important to "Inhale. Exhale. Slow and Easy." and all the while knowing that God will refresh my poor tired, frightened soul.
You see the beauty and awesomeness of God's power in the midst of the storm; you are really learning to handle your phobia of storms in a powerful way! Keep on reaching higher, and may you continue to battle your fears; God will get you through; He always has! :) Wonderful write and awesome pic; you truly are the StormSpinner! BRAVA, Karla!

"Know that it won't last forever" (The waiting is what pumps up the adrenaline), and you're right: you are the eye of the storm and the inhale/exhale exercises can certainly help.
I recall my first hurricane party--we used to gather at someone's house or the neighborhood bar to wait out the storm. I went home from my first hurricane party and the front porch of my house was battered to smithereens. Glad I wasn't there at the time.
