WOW! That stadium in the picture has monolithic porportions. As in your poem I can just imagine the noise from the excitement of the race. Your excitement is expressed in your words. Glad your driver was near the front.

I used to be one of the ER nurses at the infield hospital in Daytona Bch. where I lived. I had the best seats in the house for FREE!
But, it wasn't a pretty picture when they'd all get tangled in a pile up!
Gosh! I was 20! ...and man O' man did we have fun with the drivers after the race, heading to the strip at night, partying till all hours, watching them re-fiberglass their car parts right in the hotel rooms!
