only so many ways to beat a dead horse: talking about talk shows, their subjects: the same old, same old. paternity: if you would keep yer legs together and not *beep* every tom, dick and harry, you'd know who the daddy was. paternity: if you'd keep the thing in yer pants, where it belongs and honor the relationship, you'd not have babies from one coast to the other who wonder where their daddy is. teens gone wild: sorry, who's the parent here? abusive spouses: get out. get out. get out. you don't have to put up with that *beep*. ain't you got any respect for yourself? and what's with all the cussing on those shows? nothing better to say? what's with all the fighting, free-for-alls? (let's get ready to ruuuuumble!!). the drama. the tears. the bull *beep* ... why the TV's O F F. and ... reality? don't E V E N go there.
I've seen enough to understand the frustration here. I dubbed them a waste of my time a long time ago. Some people thrive on this type of drama, though. Not sure why. Guess someone should introduce them to a library or something...lol. Funny piece, and I don't blame you for tuning out! -Sheila
Oh Karla I am with you all the way, first of all you would think they would be too embarrassed to go on public TV and announce to the world that they have had so many guys that they don't know who the father of their child is and anyone to put up with being beaten in todays world, something ain't right here I tell you. Tired of all the beep beep beeping too.
Why? because it sells and in this Greed oriented society we find ourselves in that is all that matters.

KNow a show worse than Jerry Springer,,,it's "Cheaters". This is bizarre and some of the most gullible narcissistic people in the world would be on this thing, Kinda like politicians and their escapades on our money and their greed.

I AVOID TV as much as possible. Funny though... when I first came here to the US from Germany I didn't speak much Enlish and I watched Jerry Springer... thought **beep** was a word, LOL

Let me tell you why I have all the power in my home: I have no cable. I have no TV reception. Anything my kids watch must be placed in that VCR or DVD by me, and I've got the remote** It's all about choices here-- My Choices! I don't complain too much about Nemo (38x/wk) or Lassie Returns. All I have to do is go to the shopping mall and see all the iconed shirts the tikes are wearing, and then be thankful again my kids don't even know what that's all about. Generic-- it's so-- W O N D E R F U L ! (And since when were solid colors such a bad thing?)
A good spin -off of Jerry's you got it right Karla, just click it off!

For the cussing.......a co-worker...every second word is F. Gutter mouth and the truth is no one is really listening to her because of it. That is reality :-)
This is why I'd much rather watch our DVD's or shows like "Extreme Home Makeover" or "America's Funniest Home Videos", or the Christian channel. I get more joy out of shows like these than hearing about the miseries of the human race, about who slept with whom, or who their kid's daddy (daddies) are, or seeing parents dealing with their out of control, violent children. Sad!! The world is bad enough; why only capitalize on that?? No wonder we are so screwed up!!

Well, this is one reason I hardly turn my TV on. I mostly love to watch the weather channel, Nature channel and discovery channel, and oh I do love Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!
