Soaring high above, the eagle hones its talons on razor sharp bolts of lightning. It rides the four winds and the thunder to their beginnings, before they were storm. Communing with the Creator Who gave it wings, it lifts off, flies safe, out of harm's way.
Soar freedom's bird. Now ya got me wondering if birds ever get struck by lightning. They aren't grounded, but I guess if they were close enough they might get a bit toasty.

Vivid, powerful, and quite memorable imagery here, Karla. I particularly liked the line "it rides the four winds and the thunder to their beginnings." Nicely done.
