The cold, impenetrable gape of stars overhead inspired this one.

Poem Artwork

Before the sun, there were eyes -
a trillion glittering orbs
staring down as Earth slumbered.

Nothing moved under their gaze
except me, who saw them there,
who dared to look back, boldly -

a silent battle of will.

Outstanding write my friend...I love to ride through the Kentucky mountains at night and star gaze, and other times just sit on my front porch and enjoy the beauty and wonders of what seems to be just within our reach, and what many never take the time to enjoy. I am intrigued by their beauty and often get absorbed and sit for what seems to have been only a short time, when in actuality I sat for hours gazing, wondering, dreaming, imagining, and enjoying...well done my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
