Feeling it today ... LOL

Image (c) 2007, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

Familiar: skin wrapped around
bones known my entire life, a
neighborhood that changed little
over the years.  That was then.
Now when I look into the
mirror, a stranger stares back:
Who is this intruder and
when the hell did she move in?

"Itruder" guess we can all feel like this every now and again.
"...Who is this intruder and
when the hell did she move in?" This question was really something...I know we all ask ourselves that as we go along throughout the years not growing any younger~heeeheee.
Well, wish we could turn back the hands of time or either stay young forever...that would be a great idea.

Blessings,
~Gwendolyn

You got that right, Karla. I tried to kick the one in my house out, only I looked so silly after I did it, on my rear in the snow.
I think I kicked me too hard...Jerry

This is a very relatable poem, and a great picture of yourself, it looks like you were in front of Wal Mart or somewhere like that!
God Bless

It seems that often even neighborhoods can change their faces. Thank goodness Our hearts can endure the surface.

You give new meaning to "The Mirror Has Two Faces" ... I always see this stranger, an old person looking back at me...tee hee, hee, where is that young one that I walked in with? A keeper for sure

Karla~

Don't mean to laugh, but this. is. FUNNY! LOL I often wonder the same thing myself; seems that pain has become an unwelcome neighbor in our lives. You pen it brilliantly, brava!! Extremely well done!

This is good! Something many of us can identify with. I wonder sometimes how other people see me. Truth is, they probably don't pay much attention!
Fat Tuesday, huh? Pat Robertson has a "Skinny Wednesday." Seems everytime we happen to watch his show, it's Wednesday. Maybe the Lord is trying to tell Bill and me to lose the bulges.

My "Images" poem is the one I call my mid-life-crisis poem. We all see that stranger in the mirror at some point. I have bad news: Once you notice that "other" person.... It's all downhill from there!

Smile, it could be worse... You could be looking at the one I see in MY mirror!
