When Mama ain't happy ...

Image (c) 2007, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

... the clouds lower until
they touch the ground;
hands of anger throw
my toys across the land.

A Voice roars:  "If you
can't learn to take care
of what I've given, you
don't need them."  Think

I'm grounded.  Should
have cleaned my room...

Furious black cloud, looks tornado like to me. Smoke going all around. A child seeing her things going astrew would be quite upset, even if they don't take care of them, they still want them when needed. I so love to watch children at play on their little riding toys with their legs going so fast. Fury is a great poem.

Good metaphor! Many a time I've felt like she's givin me a good spankin when I've got dirty and wet at the beach, but at least, in this instance, her fury is perhaps a righteous indignation. We've toyed with her patience long enough, I fear... Another great write, Karla. Kate xx
