Poem Artwork

Vividly scarlet against
the blue of Texas skies, a
Northern Cardinal singing

his heart out in praise to the
Creator - what is wrong with
man, that we don't do the same?

He gives us breath, He gives us
life:  should we not be grateful
for all He has done for us?

Lift your voice up in song and
thank Him for all the blessings
He has given you this day.

If...if we take the time to see...
A bird lives a different life and doesn't have the brains to worry about anything. Maybe we need more bird brains...hee, hee...

Karla,
This is an eloquent cry in the wilderness of our lives, and a genuine prayer and call to renew spirituality. Gorgeous!

I have a roof over my head-I don't sleep in a cardboard box or my car. I have food on my table-I don't have to dig through garbage or panhandle to eat. I have clothes on my back-I don't go barefoot or have to wear rags. I have a steady job-I don't have to wait in the unemployment line(yet). He has always taken care of us, thank you Lord.

Yes, praise is the highest form of prayer, Karla. And high praise this is!

Hallelujah! I'm singing with you Karla, "Let us celebrate the Lord, He is worthy to be praised, so shall we defeat all our enemies!"
Great praise/poem!

Spot on, Karla. How sad that we have made our own lives so often needlessly complex that we can't have the same good appreciation of the gift of life itself. I feel ever blessed to live so close to birds, sea and "natural" song as I do! I am ever indebted to it. Neat work as always. Kate xx

Thanks for these versified thoughts - you have me reflecting: That's how we should sing like the Cardinal. Free of all pretense; yet as I can testify lately, with people it often becomes a complicated affair... I sing in the shower and I'm happier then; when it comes to real singing, maybe I should just give up the recording end of it

Right on. We need to be reminded that all of nature displays the glory of it's creator and some of it even sings. Happy poem. Hugs, J'nia

Karla, I so appreciate the reminder to be grateful and count my blessings, praising He who gave them. In these days of global unrest both natural and man made, it is well to do this. Lovely poem. Be well, Kathy

Karla, this is great, you capture those moments where Nature and God intersect within the skies, within song, and within the very breath we breathe...we seek to fing that understanding of man, and yet thewre are so many who like you, can see beyond our own faults and sing praise unto Him...

nice...

What's wrong with man you ask? better ask if any part of him is right!
Cardinals give a life tone to our gray days.

A lovely poem of praise, yes birds sing to the Creator with gusto, unlike men who feel awkward with worship and praise, and to think that God is worthy of it all!!! Write on, Karla!!! (Sing on too!)
