I agree with John, excellent :) This reminded me of Makai and I watching some hawks and thinking about what they were circling to catch.

KARLA - WELL DONE!

Reminds me of lyrics from a Boy Scout song - "That Good Ole Mountain Dew" -

"... the buzzards in the sky get so dizzy they can't fly,
from smellin' that good ole mountain dwe ..."

peace - Tom.

Kings of soaring, these guys, and yet, as you say, something's dead somewhere. A lovely Haiku--thanks for sharing!

I prefer to think of them as nature's refuse removal service. In fact, they do a much better service for the environment than we do, utilizing that which would otherwise polute our planet. Gotta love the end of the food chainers and the bottom feeders. Nice write, Karla, complex, saying much in few words.

Take care,

Sherry

Yes, it is sad, however death is a new life. A new begining. So-maybe not so bad. Thanks Karla.

I should have read this one first, LOL, because now I have to find a happy poem to get rid of the image of the buzzards circling around a dead corpse. Stupid buzzards, why can't they come out when the sky is dark with rain? Oh well. Thank you for sharing this.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie.

Those DARN buzzards! Always have to get in the way of pretty checkered blue skies! LOL Excellent 'ku, Karla; and the piccy is great, too! Very well penned/imaged; brava!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn (the biggest buzzard around! LOLOLOL). :D

Agreeing with Jerry, buzzards do serve a good purpose; they keep dead animals cleared from the roadsides. But aside from analyzing, your haiku does make one think just what you wrote when we see them circling in the sky.
