he be listening when
there is so much tragedy
in the world? don't give
me this it's because of
sin --- isn't he supposed
to be the deliverer, to not
give us more than we can
bear? shoulders bowed
not in worship, but with
the weight of the world ---
teach me to pray because
my words fall on deaf ears.
Ah... but He lifts burdens, Karla...reminds us how to smile...all one needs to do is to look at the sunset in the evenings and the sunrise in the mornings...the flowers of spring & summer... feel the cool rain on the face...to know that you are loved by one above. Maybe the tragedy is to draw people to Him, and ultimately to bring them home to Him...
I am reminded of Job and his suffering. I am also reminded by your poem of the Psalmist David who said, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up like wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Teach me Lord to wait."
It's easy to lose faith in a world gone mad. Perhaps the problem lies in man's determination to have his own way come hell or high water. I firmly believe that God is there for those who seek Him but the seeking must be on His terms, not ours. An excellent, powerful write that calls out for answers that don't come easily. I thank Peter for his words as God above is not responsible for the going ons. We the people make the choice and we have the will to change them. I know God will not give us more then our shoulders can bear although we may feel weighed down at time, believe me He hears every word and crys along with us Karla. Keep your faith dear and all will work out.

God is not a dictator. Mankind has the power of choice. Free will, so to speak. So it's up to us to decide how we conduct our affairs. The world today is upside down. Man has made it this way. In fact, a very small number of men have seen to it that things are the way they are. These are people who have drunk from the poison chalice of absolute power. Man's attempt to become God. They believe science will achieve this. But science will ultimately fail for it does not take into account the spirit of man. And when their science fails them, so will they fail. And the parasite elite will disappear into the black hole of history. And then you'll know that those deaf ears weren't deaf after all.
I'm not immune to feel others pain and suffering; but I think that some of the man-made disasters we cannot blame God for that. God has given us a nice place to live, but men has destroyed it through wars and science.
I can write of the miracles in my life, and some I have already posted them in my blogs section.
The latest:
1) I have prayed to God for some money to come to us, and a day later, my hubby handed me $1,800.00.
2) I have also prayed for my daughter's leg to get better, and two days later my daughter called me and told me she can now walk without her crutches and even puts on her high heels shoes. (My daughter has hurt her leg a month and a half ago, and the estimated time of healing isn't due yet. But I prayed to God for her healing, and she healed).

This is not at all like you, Karla. Mankind has made the world into what it is today with its out of control technology. It is totally unlike what God had created for man when He made earth a true paradise. Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God." But no, we weren't then and still aren't wise enough to listen to Him.
If man had listened to God back then, maybe this part of Daniel 2:21 would never have been written - "And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings;......"
As for me? I believe in and trust in my Lord completely.
I am not much of "A Believer" and with all that happens, with all the horror about us daily...every day! I am more and more of a disbeliever... See my poem directly below your's Karla. Because I do believe that, due to the daily, never ending horror I believe that I've become "Mentally Deficient."

Powerful words here, but one good Christian friend of mine told me its not about giving us more than we can bear, its about him not giving us more than he can bear, keep the faith girl, we are facing a dark and turbullent time, but there is light, and beauty if you look closely enough
