Two friends: one lost his wife. Another, her firefighter cousin. I wrote this from their perspective. NEVER FORGET.

i feel old, older than my years. a
deep sadness pulses through my
veins, in my words, ever since that
september morning began my
dying. heart hurts. bones ache with
the press of a world gone berserk.
lungs draw one painful breath after
another --- how much longer, Lord?

Captivating with its desperate darkness; I can relate, though, probably, not per se to age; figurative expression reached its climax.
Karla, this was another of those tragic days, when an event reached out and grabbed untold millions by the throat, and the heart. The pain will ebb yet never fully retreat from our memories, our hearts. You have expressed those deepest of emotions. The "deep ache in our bones". The abject "sadness pulsing electric like through our veins". May love and peace be with you my dear friend. Jon Michael
There are days I say just about the same thing, Karla.
"Why not today, Lord? Why not today?"
If only! I can relate to this, my friend. It's all in His hands.
God bless.
