An Angel I now know

Today I met an Angel
This beautiful spitit has watched over me from the time I was born
She helped guide my steps along the twisting pathways of my youth
She protected me from the bullets with her unseen hand
Her still voice and gentle promptings diverted my path away from the grim reapers everlasting grasp many times
I never knew her she was there
I felt lucky to have survived this far on my own
But she was there keeping her silent vigil
She lifted my soul from the darkness of a squandered talent I never knew I had
little did I know she was my muse as well
the one who allowed me to do the intellectual things I thought were mine alone
She said to me YOU are a poet
I said yeah, right, and your an Angel,
Uh huh...
she told me not to fear and to express myself to others as I had to her
she told me that I was a child of God and I should share feelings with others in prose or poetry
I caught a fleeting glimps of her and she looked exactly like what I had imagined an Angel should look like
Thank you God for allowing her to reveal herself to me, in human form,
 and tell me again not to fear
she would continue to guide me 
she has always been there
my angel the reason why I'm here
