Sometimes we can't help but wonder,
Why a love has gone asunder.
It takes two to make a love,
But only one to make a blunder.
One mate's spirit does advance.
The other stagnates in ignorance.
Seeds of rage and torment sown.
Envy and jealousy of talent well known,
And into this mix alcohol was thrown.
One is to many a thousand, not enough,
Then things started to get rough.
Insults taken beatings endured,
His need for drink was never cured.
Because he never heard her voice,
The time had come to make a choice.
Her spirit could only take so much,
A kind word spoken a tender touch.
Another's heart yearning for her love,
Has found his soulmate from above.
Together forever they'll walk life's path.
With no more rage, and no more wrath
They both now know what they have found,
Love firmly planted on God's ground.
Fool, you've lost it all you see,
And I'm not one bit sorry for thee.
Too late to beg on bended knee,
Because now you scum.... She belongs with me.
Wow Walt I have heard those words a time or two, well not quiet the same words but same meaning and these are straight from your heart. She is lucky to now belong to you. Thanks for sharing.

Walt, I can tell, this was written from the heart and the soul of one who knows and hurts constantly over lost years and lost happiness. Sometimes in this life many people wake up when it's too late...what a powerful poem this is...it could hit home to so many! Enjoyed!
This poem sure speaks for itself!
GOOD luck and Happier Wishes ahead
for the two/Etc. of YOU!
Let the happier memories to come, stay STRONG Forever!
Their is reason for everything, including the waiting!
Alcohol abusing and too much consuming leaves many lives bruising!
Much love and Warmer hugs and Inner PEACE! Warmly, Warrior Goddess Purple Sheeeoox
Wow, what an emotional write my friend. Alcohol has been the dissolving factor for many relationships that probably otherwise would have stood the tests of time! I've seen it within family members homes, friends still enduring, and through the eyes of children in my classroom. Such a sad addiction, one that destroys all including self! Well done, well written, great imagery and powerful message within!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Wife stealer!! LOL . . . Just kidding . . . JUST kidding . . .
One sure-fire way for the wife to stray
Is treat them like your personal prey
I don't know why, but this poem reminds me of a battered and abandoned kitten that you are wraping with your arms.
Yes, she belongs to you, only, don't let her heard you saying it!
Georg
Once we taste the words from the past, the truths come back to haunt us. Take the first step to turn your life around and don't repeat what hurt you to start with. A wise man knows his mistakes and a sage lives by the change.
