One wiff of Patchouli.......Far out man.

Poem Artwork

Like deja vu all over again.
Hippy chicks in bell bottoms.
Seven people in a VW Bug, headed to the woods.
Sittin around a "smokin" campfire.
Playin my guitar and trying to sing Neil Young.
Gazing with wonderment at the stars again.
Laughing at nothing till my sides hurt...
Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison.
Blind munchies and smores.
We're gonna change the world.
Even now, aproaching my geezerhood,
One wiff of Patchouli takes me right back there.
Patchouli....Ah yes
Hippy chicks in bell bottoms.
Far Out, Man.

Hippy chicks in bell bottoms means something a whole lot different to me these days, Walt... my hippys have widened so much I now need those bell bottoms to be at the bell tops!! Not sure I look quite so chic no more! Ahhh... but the scent... it never dies, does it... nor the memories it conjures... We call them loon pants over here... for obvious reasons, perhaps! Great write! TY Kate xx

Is Patchouli pot?? If so, you took me back to the sixties...but I was innocent...was only 10 years old when Woodstock went down! LOL But I remember the music...love it. :) Well done, my friend.

Those were part of my immortal years and being a newspaper woman and after thenpaper went to bed...we partied with the bell bottoms and the ty dyed dresses and shirts.Good music in those days and music that is still played today. I wonder how long some of the music played today will be around? Doobie a good Doobie.

Oh! that mossy pungent aroma...after the rottenvegetation and stagnant waters of the Nam everglades, that song by J.Jopling "Oh Lord, would you by me-e-e a Mercedes Benz" seem allegoric to the today's crowd...
