So your life is not so good,
As when you voted for what I stood.
You wonder each and every day,
What I stand for any way.
I stand for me and don’t represent,
The folks me here with their votes sent.
I stand for those who have the money,
Campaign funds like milk and honey.
To work for my constituents, I was sent.
But the job’s meager salary won’t pay my rent.
I seek my wealth in other places,
Forget you and your nameless faces.
Don’t blame me if life’s not so good,
I don’t now stand where I said I would.
Vote me in again and I say to you,
All those things promised I will do.
For now I'll do my party’s mission,
And I will make their’s my decision,
Because first, foremost, and in the end,
I am a politician, and not your friend.
You rival good 'ol Mark Twain in appropos comments for this season - and you did it all in a rhyming verse! Now if we could only get those politicians to rhyme (and remember what they said after elected!)
We have a hope, a dream, a little plan-- an idea, and we hold it out in our hands to be baby-sat by cold-minded, calculating pideafiles, who will rape and torture your darlings till there's no semblance of the virgin hope you held out so trustingly-- Such a shame. Where are all the "Mr. Smith's" who'll go to Washington for us and "do the right thing?"

Politicians' I say ban them from the land. What do they do, just screw up the world. All a country needs is Bob the president going to work on a tuesday afternoon to collect the mail.
