Quietly I sit,
Sipping coffee.
Breathing in the lovely smell,
Of a mountain morning.
Another milestone birthday has passed,
Sixty this time,
And I'm still here.
I think about the people I've known,

I hope that it is peace they have,
And not eternal strife.
Must we come back here again,
And endure the trials of life?
Maybe if we love our neighbor,
And not just his wife.
It's just too much to ponder,
Before breakfast anyway.
I'll think about it tomorrow,
For tomorrow is another day.
